A Walk Among the Tombstones

Hmm…Neeson just ensures that the movie you’re about to see is of quality. Only he can wear such brown corduroy coat and look so amazingly glorious before all the action.

The plot is simple and classic; one you’d typically find during the 90’s but every minute of it just took me into this thriller ride that digs a pit in my stomach. I loved how less complicated it is and how it engages you. It showcases how the world can be so unforgiving and violent at any given time. And I’ve always like such movies; trying to figure out a psycho criminal mind.

It’s a 7 as I hoped it wouldn’t be Taken-esque. Neeson tried to scare the guy over the phone again, played detective and risked his life trying to save another kidnapped girl, so yeah, it could belong to the Taken Series.

Coffee Town

I wouldn’t have seen this movie if not for someone I call “Mr.” suggested that I see it. And now I’m thanking him for doing so. Thanks to him I had a good weekend night!

Talking about the movie, it’s pretty simple and plain but the script was beautifully made. The writer must be a genius or something! I liked how it was situated in a more relatable environment. Since I’m a big fan of coffee, I typically spend a lot of time in coffee shops. Whether I’m alone or not, rainy or sunny, sleepless or well rested, it’s always good to have  a cup of that addicting beverage in a nicely decorated area.

So losing that special place could be really upsetting. I know I won’t do something like what those 3 crazy idiots did but I will surely be sad over it.

Not to mention Groban’s appearance here; I never knew he’d consider being on the big screens! If I would pick my favorite scenes, it’d be the ones with him on it. Now I don’t know if I could take him seriously when he sings now.

This movie deserves a mighty 10. It is original, hilarious and not so mainstream. I love it! In addition to that Glenn Howerton’s eyes are oh-so pretty that I can’t leave it unsaid! So yeah! Now get out of here and watch it!

[Movie] 3 Days to Kill

One day, I decided to join my mother with her addiction to action, thriller and horror movies and I happen to see this movie that day!

Kevin Costner…hmmm..of course I was expecting it to be amazing and I wasn’t disappointed. With all that problems he’s facing; that one man can survive is truly motivating. Illegal arms trafficker, a brain cancer, estranged teenage daughter, a doubtful ex-wife and CIA’s elite assassin on his tail are the things he managed to deal with. I don’t think I can handle that much.

I’ll give it a 9 out of 10 for the action-packed scenarios but I believe that there’s always room for improvement.

[Movie] This is the End!

Remember how I mentioned earlier that I will do some James Franco Movie Marathon? Now I happen to land on this site that features this movie and I’m sure glad I did!

It was totally hilarious! They got the perfect blend of casts! If I could spend my last days on earth with James ‘freaking’ Franco that would be the awesomest last day of my life!

Despite the comedy, the movie left some lessons to live by. Selflessness can get you to heaven! It doesn’t matter how big or how small you helped others sincerely but what’s important is that you actually did it and you never asked for anything in return!

I’ll give this movie an 8 out of 10! they did kill James again but it was called for plus, Channing Tatum’s cameo appearance was very unexpected and extremely mind-boggling! Sheesh!

[Movie] Spring Breakers

images (1)

While Magic Mike left me drooling over hunkies that looks like they are fresh from a magazine cover shoot, Spring Breakers left me absolutely dumbfounded.

The premise was clear and predictable but the screenplay was so deep and it gives off a lot of meaning to it. I suddenly got reminded of my earlier years as I also had my fair share of crazy night and days, but not too insane like these youngsters in the movie. It’s in a different level of crazy! I’ve done grave and totally regrettable deeds back then but I somehow knew where and what my limits are.

James Franco! My God, I thank you for him! I’ve haven’t really noticed him much until this movie. I guess he’s next to Elen Degeneres and Brendan Fraiser in my Top 10 list of the coolest Hollywood personalities! I super love him and I think I’ll have some marathoning to do. I’ll give this movie a 6 out of 10 plainly because they fuckin killed James at the end of the movie! Like what is that? Seriously! Geez!

[Movie] Magic Mike

I’ve been meaning to watch this since it premiered but I actually can’t find the time to do so. Now that I’ve seen it all I can say is Wow! The cast is totally awesome, the setting is extremely hot and the dancing just makes my eyes want to pop out of their sockets!

I had this aim of going to a gay bar once right before I turn 18 but up to this moment I’ve haven’t gone to one yet. I bet it’ll be totally fun going with my girls and GBF. It’s funny how my brother who’s a Multimedia Artist went before I did together with his colleagues for their video documentary project on male strippers.

Well, If this movie doesn’t get you, then i don’t know what movie will! Ha ha! It definitely left me drooling! So it gets my 10 out of 10!

There are all sorts of talks and rumors going around about the 2nd installment of the movie. The plan is to bring back the original cast for one road trip movie, not a slice-of-life movie. Channing said he wants to put a shit-ton of fun and crazies that you would hardly see in a movie.

Delectable Hunks, more sexy Lap Dancing, and one hell of a crazy road trip; sounds like a great recipe for my cup of tea!

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones

As you may have already noticed I’m a fan of adventure-fantasy novels and films and I’m glad that I didn’t miss this one.

I was reluctant on seeing this movie as I’ve haven’t read the novel yet but somehow, I managed to give it a try.

And I must say I wasn’t disappointed at all. The movie was fast paced and there was no dragging feeling to it. The plot is not really unique but the settings and the characters were. I liked how they seemed that New York really had those underground and hidden places inhabited by various supernatural creatures.

I loved how they casted Jamie Campbell Bower here as Jace because it was a little bit refreshing that the leading guy is not the typical Prince-Charming-looking guy. He’s got this rough and dark image to him and it suited the movie and the character so well. As for Lily being Clary, there was nothing really special into it but I must say she knows what she is doing and I think it’s enough to make this movie an excellent one.

The action scenes were not really typical also and it made me anticipate more. Of course, there were a few things that confused me as I haven’t read the novels yet. But, yeah, I’m rating the movie ‘alone’ 7/10, since there are so much room for improvement but it was good enough.

Well, now, the movie got so much of my interest and I’m off to read the novel series now!

For those who haven’t seen it yet, here’s the trailer!
