[KMovie] Old Boy

It was really my brother who recommended this film to me and he uploaded a copy into my hard drive. I saw the movie like 6 months later.

On the first minutes of it, I was like “Oh well, it’s another crazy, unexplainable movie..”. I thought it was something like Lady Vengeance or The Housemaid but suspense and curiosity slowly creeped in when more unexplainable things started to happen. I wanted it to be over and solved soon and then BANG! That twist in the end just slapped me like no other! It’s insane and so twisted that I never expected it! Geez! It’s absolutely crazy! Like dark, terribly crazy! I know it’s possible to happen in real life but c’mon now! That’s revenge in it’s highest form.

I can’t give any ratings as I’m still pondering whether it’s crazy good or it’s just plainly insane.

If you like dark and deep movies, this is highly recommended. Go see for yourself and give me any feedback as to decide whether it was good or no. My brother says it was good (being a filmmaker that he is, he loves this kind of unusually plotted movies..).

[KMovie] The Flu

I’ve been eyeing this movie and I’m glad I finally watched it! My dear Jang Hyuk is an exceptional actor and its amazing because he knows which piece he should do! This movie kept me away from my chores as I anticipate what will happen next.

This movie just proves us that we can’t be perfectly ready for everything. The government officials will fight for power and control thinking it’s for the welfare of everybody, the society will be divided into just 2; the infected and the not infected. In the end, the people who has better guns get to survive.

It is very disturbing to think this is the world we live in. I just hope that when something similar happens , country leaders can stand up like what the President here did. God! I love how he said “Mr. Snyder, I officially warn you, I will shoot them down!”

It’s a 9 out of 10 for me because at one point even if that filipino actor did really a great job with his acting, I still can’t stop thinking that the flu originated somewhere from the Philippines and it’s kinda freaking me out.

[KMovie] Secretly Greatly

Hmmm.. what can I say? It’s another great great job from my dear “Sam Dong”.

I was lurking around GoodDrama, looking for a good watch and then my eyes landed on this title! It shocked me because I wasn’t anticipating it at all. I thought the movie would be shown not this soon but incredibly lucky for me to be able to avoid the wait and watch it leisurely with subtitles. (That’s totally the opposite of what I experienced with “Werewolf Boy”)

The movies is an all star cast! Kim Soo Hyun, Lee Hyun Woo and Park Ki Woong is the perfect combo! Soo Hyun played his role really well, it’s like the upgraded version of Song Sam Song from Dream High! I came to love him from acting adorably stupid! Our Hyun Woo on the other hand, has grown up so much and I can see he’s challenging himself to take on more mature and serious roles and I want to see him more on many other roles! As for Ki Woong, I can always expect the best from him.

What amazed me the most about the movie is Kim Soo Hyun flashed a six-pack abs! OMG! I can’t believe it! He has improved so much. Comedy and Drama has been his forte throughout his career but now Action? I’m so excited on what he’ll take on next! He just keeps getting better and better at everything!

Disclaimer: The next paragraphs contain spoilers, if you haven’t seen the movie yet, you might wanna skip this.

All in all I’m rating the movie 9 out of 10! (All because of the six-pack abs!!! *kidding!) It’s given that Korean Movies are always in high quality, the casting was really really amazing, and most of all the story line is interesting that it made me sit at the edge of my seat.

The only thing that turned me off is the ending! Yeah, for most movies, ending always does it! I didn’t liked how all the main characters died. The whole point of the movie seemed lost because of it. I don’t see any reason why it was better that they all died. It would have been more meaningful if they all lived and stayed at the village together with everybody else! It’ll teach us that life is all about choices. You can always choose how you live your life.

Here’s the Trailer!

[TWDrama] Drunken to Love You Review

I thought I had so much of KDramas so I opted to watch JDramas and TWDramas again, keeping the balance and there I found myself looking up Rainie Yang again. She’s my favorite Taiwanese actress along with Ariel Lin. I haven’t been really updated with her and my last drama from her was Miss No Good and that was back from 2008.

On the other hand, Joseph Chang, is really new to me so my curiosity got the best of me, I watched the drama!

The drama begun in a very exciting pace and I was thrilled to see what would happen next. Lin Xiao Ru (Rainie Yang), made decisions which if I were in her place would probably decide to do as well. As for Song Jie Xiu (Joseph Chang), I like how he woke up from his never ending cycle from his complicated relationship with Ai Wei and when he realized his feelings for Xiao Ru, he stood up for it and didn’t went back and forth. He was straightforward and clear about his feelings.

The drama made me wonder if ever I encountered the same thing, would I allow myself to be in the same situation? Can I marry a stranger? Haha. I’d love to see myself try!

All in all, I would rate the drama 8 out of 10. I like the soundtrack, I’m actually in the middle of downloading some tracks from it. And it made me want to see some more Rainie dramas!
